The story of AIMS Power…
The first AIMS Power inverter was created in 2001 by founder and president Bruce de Jong in his Reno garage, Nevada. Our president devoted late nights to developing truly unique inverter designs and researching the needs of the renewable energy markets. And he succeeded.
Armed with just a college degree and a little business experience, AIMS Power was born, designing, developing and bringing to market the most extensive line of inverters available.
The company was eventually able to move to an office in South Reno, before expanding to two facilities. A business of one grew with the addition of de Jong’s wife Laura, followed by a staff of just 14. Sales, marketing and warehousing teams and specialists would be the next additions, helping the company go from strength to competitive.
Leaders in design…
Our current portfolio of 95 products includes low-frequency inverter chargers able to meet industrial-grade needs and consumer price points. We also introduced a line of modified sine inverters boasting 8, 10, 12, and 50-kilowatt models, a range of ETL-certified power inverters which Conform to UL 458 Standards and a range of European inverters.

AIMS Power has flourished thanks to a dedication to designing inventory for off-grid power systems which meet the needs, timing and cost constraints of the customer. The company is founded on de Jong’s unique approach to working directly with customers and factories to solve industry problems by producing innovative products.
With many bigger companies moving trade overseas and narrowing their product lines, AIMS Power has been able to step into the gulf. We are able to service those neglected businesses in need of customized designs which help them keep pace with industry changes.
In fact, AIMS Power inverters are used by some of the most prestigious organizations in the U.S including NASA, the Department of Defense, and Princeton University. But our customer-focused approach means we can provide solutions to all industries – whether it’s mobile electricity for city buses or residential backup power in an emergency.
